Indian Summer

We're enjoying some fantastic weather. I almost feel guilty rejoicing, since I heard from Eddie and Martha. All of their friends have lost everything. Some people had as much as 14 feet of water wash through their homes. Eddie and Martha said the water by their home came as far as the curb and then receded. Jimmy Frank and Roberta made through fine. I don't even think they got broken windows. Everyone did lose electricity and have to throw away food, but that is minor when you think of life and home.
I had my physical yesterday and everything was a go for the surgery on my foot Friday at 11:00 a.m. I won't be able to do any walking at all for at least three days. No driving the car for three weeks or more. I have wonderful friends here who are going to take care of me. How blessed I am!
I here Maria had a birthday. I'm sure you enjoyed your trip to Seattle. The boys love to see their cousins and play with them. Soon they will have three to keep them entertained!
Love to all.

Grandma Helps With Grandkids

Today I leave for Pulaski at 2:30 to be there when Andraya and Elise get home from school and Natalie from the babysitter. Tomorrow I'll be there in the evening to give them their supper and get them to bed, since Kathy works late. I may have to go on Friday also. I enjoy my time with them as long as it isn't too long a stretch at one time. They are good for me which really helps.
If the weather is nice, I take them to the park. It helps the time to pass quickly.
It was only 37 degrees this morning when I got up, but it will warm up to 72. Tomorrow it will get up to 78. I still know that winter isn't too far away.
Played bingo last night but didn't win. The prize is $1.00. Once a month we serve cake and ice cream after the games to celebrate all those who have birthdays for the month.
How are my boys? I miss boys, since I only have girls to watch here. Give them a hug from Grandma. All my love to all.

It's A Win!

The Packers did it last night! I was particularly happy for Rodgers. He played well. I know he under alot of pressure to prove himself.
I'm beginning to feel like winter is upon us again. We're getting some really cool nights, and I haven't used my air conditioner for several days. I hope this winter isn't too severe. We had some bad days last year. I was actually in Portland for the worst storm that hit. I remember that even all the churches were closed on a Sunday.
Don't know what's on the calendar for today. Will just have to wait and see.

Packers

Hi,
Forgot to mention that the Packers play their first season game tonight. It will be on ABC at 6:00 P.M. central time. I'm anxious to see how our new quarterback performs. I feel sorry for him following Favre. Farve played well for New York yesterday, and they won their game. I hear he has purchased a home in New Jersey. His wife and girl have come to live there now.

Happy Feast

Happy Feast Day to all. We had Liturgy this morning at 8:00 A.M. That's earlier than usual, but our priest has to get his little girl to preschool, since his wife is student teaching this semester.
Don't mind the early hour, since I'm usually up and about anyway.
It's very cloudy today and cooler. They forcast rain on and off today. We did get some before I left for chuch but none since.
Natalie left her jacket at the mall a couple of days ago. Kathy called the mall and it was in the lost and found. Went to pick it up after church and took it to Pulaski. Since I was there, I went with Kathy and Natalie to eat lunch at school with Andraya and Elise. They were surprised to see me. They knew mom and Natalie were going, but they didn't expect Grandma too!
Kathy does that every now and again, and the girls love it.
Have a good day. Love to all

Thank God it rained!

After a long dry spell, it finally rained softly all day. It's supposed to continue through the night and into tomorrow. We certainly need all the rain we get.
Today was a quiet day. Didn't even go outside my building. I felt like standing the in the gentle rain, but I was afraid I might get locked up. Love when I go to Christina's blog and find pictures.
Helps me feel more a part of their lives. What do I do all day when I don't go out? Today I did laundry and dishes, visited with some dear ladies in the lobby, watched a documentary on the holocaust, and read (which I enjoy). I'm presently listening to the TV while I type my blog.
Isn't that an exciting life for an old lady? Maybe I'll get to visit with you again tomorrow again through my blog.
